DMV Permit Requirements

• You must be 15 1/2 years old to take test at DMV (15 to take class)
• An original or certified copy of U.S birth certificate, passport or legal presence document
• Social Security Number (SSN)
• Completion of Driver Education Certificate (blue or pink slip)
• Parent or legal guardian must sign below the "Acknowledgment Statement" on the Completion of

Driver Education certificate form before you go to the DMV

• Complete the DMV application (DL44)
• Your parent's or legal guardian's signature is required on the DMV application (DL44)
• $32 Paid to the California DMV. (Prices are subject to change)
• Pass your vision test.
• Give a Thumb print.
• Pass the DMV written test.
• Take a picture. (The picture you take this day will be on you're Drivers License)

DMV Driver License Requirements

• You must be 16 years old
• You must hold your permit for at least 6 months
• You must call to make an appointment for the DMV driving test
• You must have completed at least 50 hours of supervised driving with your parent or legal guardian (10 hours must be driving at night)
• You must have completed 6 hours of behind the wheel training with a Licensed Driving School (the gold certificate.)
• Pass the DMV driving test to obtain your California Driver License
